The life of an Intern

I sit here this morning looking through the marketing calendar I created a few weeks back. I glanced at what I needed to do this week and it says BLOG! I sit here in an over-sized leather chair and stare into this brand new computer, which must be the envy of every other intern in the world, and ponder.

To blog, what does that mean? According to WordPress.org, “Blog” is an abbreviated version of “weblog,” which is a term used to describe web sites that maintain an ongoing chronicle of information. A blog features diary-type commentary and links to articles on other Web sites, usually presented as a list of entries in reverse chronological order. Blogs range from the personal to the political, and can focus on one narrow subject or a whole range of subjects.

Ok, now that I understand what blogging entails, what should the great Blogger Brady write about? As a marketing student at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI I figure I might as well connect my studies with what I am doing here at Interlinx Associates.

My title is Customer Relationship Management Intern. I’ve focused on marketing via social media, (make sure to follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn or Like us on Facebook if you haven’t already) email campaigns, event planning, assisting with sales representatives and consultants and developing an online store to purchase our services.

Interlinx has been a great place to take my marketing skills to another level. No more projects that just get graded or critiqued. This is real work, with real results and big expectations. Plus everyone here has been great since day one. If they take such good care of this lowly intern, I can only imagine the great service they give to every single one of their accounts.

That leads into the last part of this blog; networking and customer relationships. It has been ingrained in my mind that developing relationships is key to every business and industry. I’ve been fortunate to have landed at a place like Interlinx that strives to manage customer relationships. If you have hundreds upon thousands of contacts and can’t manage them, give us at Interlinx Associates a call. I bet that we have a solution for you.
